Ousted earlier, Syed Akbar Nizamuddin now on Wakf board

Hyderabad: Rahul Bojja, Hyderabad district collector and returning officer for elections to the TS Wakf Board on Wednesday declared Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM MLA Moazzam Khan, TRS MLC Mohd. Saleem, member of Bar Council Zakir Hussain Jawed, Syed Akbar Nizamuddin and Anwar Baig unanimously elected as members of the Wakf Board.

Interestingly, Mr Nizamuddin was in the thick of controversy after he was removed as mutawalli of a dargah that comes under the Wakf Board, following allegations of irregularities.

Mr Owaisi was elected from Muslim MPs from TS, the MIM ML and TRS MLC under the Muslim members of the TS Legislature quota, Mr Hussain from Bar Council quota and Mr Nizamuddin and Mr Baig under the mutawallis category.
