Bengaluru: A 38-year-old techie died after he slipped and came under a moving train while trying to get down at KR Puram Railway Station in the city.
The deceased, Kiran Kumar, was an employee of Wipro and a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar in Bengaluru. He had come to the city from Chennai in Chennai Mail, police officials at Cantonment Railway Station said.
The incident occurred around 4.30 pm on Thursday when the train arrived at the KR Puram railway station and the techie got down from the moving train as there was no scheduled stop at the station. The train, however, was moving a slowly while passing through the station.
When Kiran jumped out, he slipped and fell in the gap between the platform and track and came under the train. Kiran, who hailed from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, was returning to the city after visiting his three-month-old baby.
Three weeks ago, Vikram Vijayan, a 28-year-old Bengaluru-based engineer working with Wipro, died after he came under a moving train at Carmelaram Railway Station.
