Bengaluru: With Income Tax raids continuing for the second day on four star actors and four leading Kannada film producers, their fans urged the officials to conclude the investigations fast to allow them to meet their stars.

On Friday, the IT officials expanded the scope of their inquiry and searched the houses of relatives and friends of the actors and producers.

IT Department sources said that these raids were not prompted by the recent successes of a few films and big-budget movies, but they were keeping a close watch on the financial transactions of those raided for over a year.

The IT Department has not released any information on the valuables seized or property documents recovered.

On Friday afternoon, when a group of Shivarajkumar fans gathered in front of his house at Manyata Tech Park and demanded that they be allowed to meet their star, the officials warned them that it would amount to preventing officials from carrying out their duty which is an offence. Even as they dispersed from the spot, the fans said that they are not against the raids, but if the investigation is complete, they could meet Shivanna, who has been inside the house for two days.

Sources said that Geetha Shivarajkumar, wife of Shivanna, was taken to a bank to check the valuables kept in lockers.
