Bengaluru: The newly appointed home minister, M.B. Patil has quietly refused the zero traffic facility offered to him.
Mr Patil has made this clear in a letter to state police chief, Neelmani Raju. Based on his request, the office of the ADGP (Law and Order) issued a memo to all officers concerned making the instructions of the home minister clear to them.
Mr Patil had said that since the zero traffic system would inconvenience the public, he would not opt for it. Similarly,he made it clear that barring minimum security cover, he did not want to have a security blanket during his visits to the districts. He wanted to make sure the security cover does not deter people who come to meet him.
