Around 413 CCTV cameras have been set up at strategic points. Besides sending visuals to the control room, the system coordinates with the nearest signal points. Apart from the 15,000 security personnel, who are guarding the city, the cops adopted the technology for security arrangements.

The entire CCTV cameras are being monitored by DCP (Crimes) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy at the ICCC set up at Vuda Children’s theatre.

Two private firms -- Hyderabad-based Stan-power and Delhi-based Guru Consulting have installed the cameras. Stanpower installed 120 cameras in the city and 38 at IFR-specific locations, Guru Consulting has installed 110 cameras at RK Beach, 105 at in ENC, 40 at IFR Village. A video wall with 12 LED monitors has been set-up at the ICCC, which will facilitate about 120 live images at a time.

The DCP Ravi Kumar Murthy said Stanpower has installed PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) and mini PTZ while Guru Consulting have installed 20 PTZ on the Beach Road and 90 fixed ones.

The high-definition cameras and the PTZ have a zoom quality up to 500 mts and the police can zoom and see the facial features of each and every person and the vehicle passing on the routes, he added.

The moment we find any suspects or suspicious thing on the CCTV monitors, the police team at ICCC will alert the communication team, who will relay and alert the officers through UHF to prevent untoward incidents.
