Warangal: 16 students fall sick after eating hostel breakfast
So far, 14 out of the 16 students admitted in the hospital were discharged after treatment.
Warangal: Several students of the TS social welfare residential girls’ high school in Chityal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district fell ill after eating breakfast served in their hostel. The 16 girls vomited and had diarrhoea and were immediately rushed to the government hospital in Chityal. Doctors who examined them said that the khichdi they had eaten for breakfast had caused food poisoning.
Recently 54 students from the same school fell ill due to food poisoning. Parents of the students expressed anger over the poor management of food served to the students.
So far, 14 out of the 16 students admitted in the hospital were discharged after treatment. The other two, Pralaya of Class X and Chaya Devi of the Class V are still being treated in the hospital. Pralaya whose condition had deteriorated has been shifted to the MGM hospital in Warangal.
Parents’ committee members Sampath and Chandu demanded action against the school principal for not informing parents of the students even after they fell seriously ill.
