Sonia Gandhi 'unwell', say Congress sources; skips conference
The Congress chief was to address the inaugural session of the Women Legislators' Conference.
New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday skipped the first-ever Women Legislators' Conference organised here as she is "unwell".
The Congress chief was to address the inaugural session of the Conference along with Speaker of Bangladesh legislature Shirin Chaudhary, Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptullah and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Party sources said Gandhi could not participate in the Conference organised by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan as "she is unwell".
The meet aims at providing a platform to women legislators across the country to interact and learn from their counterparts, women Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, MPs and eminent women in the judiciary and bureaucracy.
