Andhra Pradesh: HPCL to adopt smart villages
HPCL will develop Arepalli Muppala in Eepuru mandal with Rs 52.86 lakh.
GUNTUR: HPCL will develop Arepalli Muppala in Eepuru mandal with Rs 52.86 lakh. Narasaraopeta MP R. Samabasiva Rao asked the HPCL to allot funds under Community Social Responsi-bility initiative. Hence it agreed to work with the MP. An MoU was signed at Guntur between Guntur district officials and HPCL officials on Saturday. The MP said that he adopted Arepalli Muppala village to switch it into Smart village and said that besides HPCL, Rs 52.86 lakh funds would be sanctioned through NREGS for development of the village. He said development of SC, ST and BC colonies, including drains and roads construction would be carried out with total funds of Rs 1.5 crore.
Mr Samabsiva Rao said that he asked corporate companies to come forward to develop areas of Gurazala, Vinukonda and Macharla in Palnadu region. Already Rs 10 crore funds were offered by various companies and another Rs 30 crore funds would come soon from other corporate companies. He said that on the call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he had adopted Dharma-varam village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana for which Gas Authority of India Limited sanctioned Rs 2 crore funds under CSR initiative.
He said that New India Assurance company came forward to develop Ungutur, Inumella and Vepakampalli and United India Assurance, GAIL, SAIL, NTPC, Coal India, Canara Bank and other corporate companies came forward to develop other villages in Narasaraopeta Parliamentary Constituency. Guntur joint collector Krithika Shukla and HPCL officials led by senior regional manager M. Venugopal exchanged the papers of MoU in the collectorate at Guntur.
