Thrissur: Mr R.L.V. Ramakrishnan, brother of the late actor Kalabhavan Mani,    began a three-day fast at Chalakkudy on Saturday seeking a CBI probe into his  mysterious death.

The fast is being held at the ‘Kalagraham’ which was set up by the actor near his house at Chenathunattu to give training to the people in  various art forms.

“The Kerala police have  sabotaged the investigation into the death of my brother.  After the Regional Testing Lab at  Kakkanad, Ernakulam,  found traces of deadly insecticide chlorpyrifos in my brother's viscera, the samples were sent to the Central Forensic Laboratory in Hyderabad without sealing them and the insecticide was not found in the chemical test held in that laboratory,” Mr Ramakrishnan told mediapersons.

He said that the conspiracy behind the death of his brother could be unearthed only through a CBI probe.

The  team led by Chalakkudy DySP Shahul Hameed has stopped the investigation into the alleged conspiracy citing want of evidence.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is expected to attend an event to be held in Chalakkudy on Sunday to commemorate the first death anniversary of the actor who died on March 6 last year.
