THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even as the LDF government has decided to withdraw a case against six LDF leaders, including a minister, in connection with chaos in the Assembly in 2015, former LDF MLA Jameela Prakasam of Janata Dal (S) has decided to pursue a harassment case against two former Congress MLAs in connection with the incident. The ruckus in the Assembly was over LDF's bid to prevent then finance minister K.M. Mani from presenting budget owing to the bar bribery allegations against him.

In her petition fled in 2015, Ms Prakasam had accused former Congress MLAs K. Sivadasan Nair and Dominic Presentation of physically and mentally harassing her during the ruckus in the Assembly on March 13, 2015. A local court in Thiruvananthapuram had initiated a case against the two Congress leaders. However, the High Court later stayed proceedings after accepting a petition by Mr. Nair.

"It was on the basis of my private petition that the case was initiated and I do not have any plans to withdraw it," Ms. Prakasam told DC. Legal sources said that since it was a private complaint, the government could not decide on whether to withdraw it or not. Ms Prakasam is the wife of former minister Neelalohithdasan Nadar. The government recently decided to withdraw case against six LDF leaders — Local self government minister K T Jaleel, CPM leaders E.P. Jayarajan, V. Sivankutty, C.K. Sadasivan and K. Kunjahmed Master and K. Ajith of the CPI.
