Rasipuram Speaker shifted to Avinashi

The Rasipuram seat has been given to former MP and MLA, V.Saroja.

Namakkal: Assembly Speaker, P. Dhanpal has been shifted out of the Rasipuram reserved constituency and will now contest in Avinashi reserved seat in neighbouring Tirupur district.

The Rasipuram seat has been given to former MP and MLA, V.Saroja. Local AIADMK men claim that Dhanapal may have been shifted to Avinashi to beat the anti-incumbency factor. Saroja, a known face in Rasipuram, has been fielded to woo  women voters.

In Namakkal district with six constituencies, minister P.Thangamani and sitting MLA K.P.P.Bhaskar have been given ticket. While the minister will recontest from Kumarapalayam, Bhaskar will test his luck again in Namakkal constituency.
In Sendhamangalam, the AIADMK has chosen to field a former DMK MLA, C.Chandrasekaran and the Tiruchengode Municipal chairperson Pon Saraswathi will constest from Tiruchengode. In Paramathivelur, the party has fielded R.R.Rajendran. Significantly, of the six candidates by the AIADMK, two are women.
