Hyderabad: TRS MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy on Monday warned the Opposition and others of legal action if they levelled baseless allegations against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao or the TRS government over construction of irrigation projects.

Mr Rajeswar Reddy said if the Opposition has any proof regarding its allegations, it can share the evidence with the government. “The government is committed to completion of pending projects. It is ready for any discussion on irrigation projects, including redesigning of some. Congress leaders are spreading lies regarding irrigation projects. Congress government did not sign any MoU. Congress leaders should stop indulging in loose talk or face legal action. Otherwise, we will have no option but to move court if they resort to character assassination,” he warned.

Referring to filing of a PIL by BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr Rajeswar Reddy said that the court had reprimanded him for baseless allegations. “We will take legal action if the Opposition and others level defamatory allegations against the CM and government. We are ready for discussion and debate on any issue,” he said.

Elsewhere, TRS MP K. Kavitha, while handing over insurance cheques to the kin of TRS workers who died recently in Khammam and other places, took a dig at the Congress and TD, say the MLAs of these parties ran away from Assembly instead of discussing irrigation projects. “They should have stayed in the Assembly, seen the PowerPoint presentation and cleared  their doubts, instead of indulging in loose talk,” she said.
