Hyderabad: 27 hotels inspected, 15 fined

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials continued raids on hotels and restaurants for the second consecutive day. The health officials inspected 27 hotels and imposed fines on 15 of them for procuring meat from illegal slaughter houses. A total amount of '1.96 lakh was collected through penalties.

Hotel Amaravathi at Nagole was fined Rs 30,000 for not purchasing stamped meat from the GHMC slaughter house and poor freezer maintenance. Hotels and messes were inspected at Alwal division. While Vennela Bar & Restaurant was seized due to unhygienic conditions and also the meat and food items were found to be stale apart from seizing the hotel management was fined Rs 40,000 as penalty.

While another hotel Dolphin, located in Malkajgiri was penalised Rs 20,000 for poor maintenance of the premises.

In the west part of the city, the officials inspected Pakwan restaurant located at Gachibolwi, circle 11, the management was penalised Rs 10,000 for using unstamped meat. This apart  the owner was prosecuted under Section 548, 596, 487 of the GHMC Act 1955.

Meanwhile , the mobile courts of the Municipal corporation that issues spot fines booked 53 cases and collected a fine amount of Rs 20,000.
