Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed medical officials to maintain every patient's health record in government hospitals and health care centres using integrated health record system. He mentioned that it would help to provide enhanced medical service and treatment to the patients by examining their previous health records and issues. During interaction with health ministry officials, late on Monday night, he spoke about forming knowledge-service partners to study health schemes introduced by the government.
Mr Naidu opined such exercises are needed to analyse how far the government’s public health schemes are successful. Mr Naidu pointed that knowledge-service partners shall conduct comprehensive surveys and provide report on if medical services under the government schemes had reached the public. This will help in improving the services and rectifying lapses, he said.
Mr Naidu also felt that learning about the functioning of various medical equipment would help in providing better medical services to the patients. He warned that he wouldn’t tolerate negligence with regard to public health or unnecessary surgeries on patients. He reminded about the medical services provided to 83 per cent of public through NTR medical services.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also announced that a special body was formed for study on Uddanam kidney disease. The chief minister mentioned it would focus on studying the reasons for the cause of the disease, preventive measures and also recovery of patients suffering from kidney problems. The officials told Mr Naidu that screening of 97.5 per cent of patients has been completed and by April 15, all the patients would be examined and tested.
