Mission Kakatiya is a must for India: Team of engineering officials

The committee was specially constituted by the Water Resources Ministry on the suggestion of Union minister Uma Bharti.

Hyderabad: A high-level team of engineering officials of various Central water agencies that visited the state to study the ongoing Mission Kakatiya works will recommend to Union Water Resources Ministry to advise all the states in the country to take up the scheme.

The high-level team was impressed by the success of Mission Kakatiya scheme launched by the TRS government to rejuvenate centuries-old irrigation tanks across the state.

The committee was specially constituted by the Water Resources Ministry on the suggestion of Union minister Uma Bharti.

Central Water Commission chief engineer C.K.L. Das, who headed the team, said that they noticed impounding of more water on account of desilting of tanks. Availability of more water for the summer crops is a major success of the scheme, Mr Das said.
