Mysuru: Former minister and senior BJP leader S Suresh Kumar on Thursday wondered whether Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had forgotten his duties and responsibilities, and restricted his activities to that of a leader of the party in Mandya in order to work for the success of his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy in parliamentary polls. He was here to interact with advocates, and drum up support for Mysuru Kodagu constituency BJP candidate Mr Pratap Simha in Mysuru law courts campus.

He said "describing themselves as secular, they are resorting only to caste based politics. It does not augur well for politics in general if leaders of JD (S) speak ill of a women candidate like Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh or against those from filmdom. They should learn to respect everyone."  Mr Suresh Kumar expressed confidence that his party would win 22 seats in forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Coalition partner leaders bury hatchet, work as team

At last leaders of coalition partners seem to be coming together and work as a team in Mysuru district. Mr Ashwin Kumar, MLA and JD (S) leader, participated in a meeting of Congress-JD (S) workers in T Narasipur along with former minister Dr H C Mahadevappa's son Sunil Bose and others. Kumar said: “A coalition government is in power, and since Congress leaders have supported our leader, Mr H D Kumaraswamy has become the CM. So it is time to follow coalition dharma in all 28 LS constituencies. We need to chant the mantra of unity to keep communalists from coming to power.”
