Visakhapatnam: Overwhelmed by the large presence of his party members at a function hall here for the TD Zone-1 meeting on Wednesday, TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu said the recent MLC poll victory for the party signalled "the beginning of the fall of the YSRC government.”

“This is only a sample and the real victory for TD is just a few months ahead,” he declared to cheers from the huge gathering. “The people supported the TD in the Council poll though the candidates were announced just 20 days in advance,'' he said.

Terming the win of a few seats by the TD as a God’s gift, Naidu claimed that his party was going to win the coming Assembly elections with a thumping majority. He said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been “feeling insecure” as "he is certain that the TD would seize power from him."

Naidu said the YSRC government totally spoiled all the sectors in the state and the TD was committed to restore the old glory of the state.

Promising to develop Visakhapatnam as a global city, he said it was the TD that came to the rescue of the people in Vizag when the super cyclone HudHud lashed the city. “Except for threatening the people and grabbing their lands at gunpoint, the YSRC leaders did nothing for this region. Lands worth at least Rs 40,000 crore have been grabbed by these leaders,” he said.

Naidu announced that party tickets for 40 per cent of the Assembly seats would be allotted to youths in the coming elections and that the candidates’ names would be declared much earlier than the polls.

State TD president K. Atchannaidu said Jagan Mohan Reddy would become history in another eight months. Speaking to reporters at the Zone-1 meeting venue, Atchannaidu said TD would begin its victory march from Pulivendula.

Senior leaders and politburo members Ashok Gajapati Raju and Ayyanna Patrudu were also present.
