PM Modi praises AIIMS Mangalagiri's milestone

Vijayawada: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised AIIMS (All India Institute of Miedical Sciences) Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, for crossing the milestone of 10 lakh outpatient consultations.

Replying to a tweet by AIIMS Mangalagiri on its achievement, the Prime Minister tweeted: "A good achievement by the institution. In one of the recent #MannKiBaat programmes, I had discussed this issue, including interaction with a doctor and someone who benefitted from tele-consultations."

Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated doctors and staff of AIIMS Mangalagiri for crossing the milestone.

AIIMS Mangalagiri director and CEO Prof. Dr Mukesh Tripathi said: “Number of total out-patients per day has increased from 44 on March 12, 2019, to 2,400–2,500 patients per day at present.” He underlined that over the four years, in-patients too have been treated through 555 beds and surgery, ICU, trauma and emergency services, apart from six operation theatres.

Dr Mukesh said all advanced equipment like 256 slice CT, 3T MRI, High Energy LINAC, Low Energy LINAC, High Dose Brachytherapy, 128 Slice CT simulator and rTMS and PET CT facilities have been made operational. Advanced cancer care is also being provided now to patients at the institute.

AIIMS Mangalagiri director emphasised that the institute is fulfilling its mandate of providing quality services at affordable prices to public. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is expediting the OPD registration process. PM-JAY / Dr. YSR Aarogyasri services are also being extended at the institute, he added.
