New Delhi: The Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court K.M Joseph is being shifted as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh. The Acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale of the Hyderabad High Court is being elevated and posted as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
The recommendations made by the collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India T.S. Thakur will be processed by the Union law ministry and the transfers will be notified shortly.
Justice Joseph was in the news recently when a Bench headed by him quashed the President’s Rule in Uttarakhand and the former chief minister Harish Rawat of the Congress was unseated one day prior to the floor test fixed by the Governor.
The bench had severely criticised the action of the Centre in recommending President’s Rule in the state. Before his appointment as CJ of the Uttarakhand HC on 31 July 2014, he had served as a Judge of Kerala HC.
