CM Yogi Adityanath finally returns to storm-hit UP

Lucknow: UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has cut short his Karnataka tour to return to Agra that is among the worst hit districts in Wednesday night’s thunderstorm.

According to the chief minister’s office, Yogi Adityanath will reach Agra late on Friday  night  and will visit the affected areas on Saturday morning.

Agra bore the maximum brunt of the dust-storm that was accompanied by heavy rain, killing at least 43 people. He will review the relief and restoration work and then leave for Kanpur to monitor the restoration work there.

The CM was earlier scheduled to continue campaigning in Karnataka till Saturday noon and leave after addressing two more election meetings.

Yogi decision to campaign in Karnataka after the thunderstorm in parts of Uttar Pradesh that claimed over 70 lives had faced sharp criticism from opposition leaders.  Karnataka chief minister  Siddaramaiah had expressed his condolences on the deaths.
