Hyderabad: 2 sell marijuana oil, get arrested
The police have apprehended the two accused and seized two litres of the liquid, estimated to be worth Rs 7.8 lakh, from their possession on Friday.
Hyderabad: The vigilance and enfor-cement team arrested 2 drug peddlers for selling marijuana oil, which is considered much stron-ger compared to dry/ green marijuana. The police have apprehended the two accused and seized two litres of the liquid, estimated to be worth Rs 7.8 lakh, from their possession on Friday. They had been operating in Hyderabad, which they basically treated as a point of transit.
Following a specific tip according to which, a narcotic substance was being sold in a villa in Sunway Opus Residency in Ameenpur, the team raided the villa on Fri-day and arrested Boddu Ahcyuth Govind, 25, a graduate and Murali Krishna Susheel, 32, a private company emplo-yee in Bengaluru.
Reportedly, the primary suspect and drug dealer Kamlesh Kumar, who is still at large, have been purchasing the marijuana oil from Vizag, and the two aforestated accused had been helping him smuggle the same into the city.
Superintendent of vigilance and enforcement T. Annapurna said, “The two apprehended accus-ed were using 600 ml Dabur Honey bottles to smuggle the liquid into the city. Thereafter, they’d fill 10 ml food colour containers with the liquid and sell the same to potential customers for about Rs 3,000 per bottle. They primarily targeted students, whi-ch makes sense because Ahcyuth graduated only recently and therefore, had access to many potential customers.”
Another official explained that the liquid can be poured directly into cigarettes and smoked. However, many use earbuds to apply the oil on cigarettes before consumption.
The police also identified and apprehended Susheel, who purchased the oil from the accused to sell in Bengaluru. Special teams have been formed to nab Kamlesh, the primary suspect.
Other than the two litres of the liquid, the police also seized Dabur Honey bottles, 20x10 ml food colour bottles, and a weighing machine.
