No NOTA for presidential election

From an obscure form 17A to a mandatory button on the EVMs, the None of the Above (Nota) option that allows a voter to reject all candidates has come a long way.

Hyderabad: There will be no NOTA (none of the above) option in the ballot paper in the next Presidential election. This was disclosed to the Assistant Returning Officers at a workshop organised by the Election Commission in Delhi recently. Earlier, a Supreme Court directive in 2013 had made NOTA a mandatory option for all polls.
