Thiruvananthapuram: The girl student who attempted to commit suicide at the University College here repeated her statements alleging that whatever she had written in the suicide note were true.

She was speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday while taking her transfer certificate from the college. She will be joining Varkala SN College.

In her two-page detailed suicide note she had alleged that the SFI leaders who used to control the University Union had forced her to skip class to attend union functions and SFI-led strikes at the college. As a result, she had to miss many lessons during her classes.

The allegation was that she was forced to come out for union programmes even during examination time.

Though she had complained to the principal, no action was taken. She was isolated by her classmates as they were afraid of wrath from the union leaders after they made the complaint.

She had also mentioned that some of the women office-bearers of SFI were harassing her for not taking part in their organisational activities. She had also shared her anger on the social media.

The girl student, a native of Attingal came to the college along with her parents to collect the TC.

The first year degree girl student from Alamcode near Attin-gal attempted suicide on the college campus, leaving a note saying her studies were affected due to over politicisation of the campus on May 3. She was found in the college restroom with slash marks on her wrists.

However, she took a U- turn in her statement, before the Attingal court, saying that she held no one responsible for the turn of events and had no complaints against anyone. The Attingal police had registered a case against her for suicide attempt.

Earlier, the Kerala University granted permission to the girl student for transfer of college.

This was based on the request she submitted to the Kerala Unive-rsity vice-chancellor V.P. Mahadevan Pillai to allow her continue studies in another college.

The University Synd-icate meeting held on May 25 discussed the request and allowed the girl a transfer to SN College in Varkala. The issue was taken up as a special case as the last date for applying for college transfer had already ended.

The girl was also allowed to appear for the examinations which she could not attend earlier.
