Consultation needed on new education policy: Prince Gajendrababu
Prince Gajendrababu, general secretary, SPCSS requested translation of the document.
CHENNAI: The State platform for common school system (SPCSS) has urged the ministry of human resource development to have the wider consultation on draft new education policy, which was made available to the public last week. In a letter to MHRD, Prince Gajendrababu, general secretary, SPCSS requested translation of the document — 'Some inputs for draft national education policy 2016' — in all Indian languages and upload it for the public to respond.
He said the document should be widely circulated to all teachers, students, parents and educational bodies to collect their views. At least six months time is needed to understand and give the proper response to the document. The government should constitute a committee of educationists from various states with due representation of SC/ST, OBC, minorities and women headed by an educationist to draft the national education policy, he demanded.
