Car collides with lorry, 5 die in Madhugiri police limits

The deceased have been identified as Manjunath, Shivaprasad, Murali, Dinesh and Ram Prasad, all aged between 20 and 25 years.

BENGALURU: Five people died on the spot when their car collided head on with a cement laden truck near Keregala Palya in Madhugiri police limits in Tumakuru on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Manjunath, Shivaprasad, Murali, Dinesh and Ram Prasad, all aged between 20 and 25 years.

They were residents of Byappanahalli in Bengaluru and going to Pavagada to attend their relative's engagement ceremony.

Manjunath, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a truck coming from the opposite direction. 

The police said the car was driven in rash and negligent manner. The Madhugiri police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
