Hyderabad: About 15 encroachment on the footpaths between Rashtrapathi Nilayam and Lothukunta have been demolished by the Secunderabad Cantonment Board on Thursday morning.

There were many structures like grocery shops built on the footpath. All such constructions were razed in the drive, which was reportedly taken up by the engineering wing of the SCB after they received complaints from local residents.

However, local residents are also questioning why the SCB waited so far to act against the encroachers. “They could have acted at least before the visit of the President to the city,” said a resident of the locality on the condition of anonymity.
