Hyderabad: The online booking of slots for various services at RTA offices have started increasing. Compared to 4,000 slots booked on day one, over 14,000 slots were booked on day three, that is Thursday.

The number of slots booked for driving licence also saw an increase. Nearly 4,000 people booked slots for Learner’s Licence. Of this over 3,000 came to RTA offices and took the test. Likewise, for regular Driving Licence, 3,700 booked slots and around 3,500 took the test.

However, many motorists complained that there were some problems with obtaining a duplicate registration certificate online.

“I paid all my monthly instalments on bank loan for the vehicle. I want a duplicate RC but the online process is giving problems. This is the situation since the last three days,” said Anudeep Singh, a motorist.

RTA officials said they are fixing problems one after the other and this would be solved as they are getting in touch with banks to give their mobile numbers.

“The online system sends a message to the bank that the duplicate RC is being issued after completion of hypothecation. The problem arose as most banks gave only landline numbers,” said an official.
