Telangana: ACB raids official, Rs 6 crore worth assets seized

Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau raided the residences of an Assistant Commercial Officer in Mahbubnagar district on Friday. During the raids, assets belonging to Bathina Surender Goud worth Rs 6 crore were seized.
After receiving credible information, police teams raided the residences of Bathina Surender Goud, who is working as an assistant commercial tax officer in Jadcherla of Mahbubnagar district. Searches were also conducted on the residences of his relatives.
During the searches, it was revealed that Surender had acquired properties in his name and in the names of his family members.
The raids unearthed a double storey building with a penthouse in Jadcherla worth Rs 36 lakh and another double storeyed building worth Rs 85 lakh in Jadcherla, agricultural lands measuring 40 acres worth Rs 19 lakh in Mahbubnagar district, seven plots worth Rs 4 lakh in Jadcherla, two cars worth Rs 17 lakh and a bike worth Rs 60,000.
Police also found bank balances of Rs 8 lakh, gold and silver articles worth Rs 4 lakh, insurance premiums of Rs 4 lakh and household articles worth Rs 5 lakh.
Although the document value of the seized properties is around Rs 1.85 crore, its market value is estimated to be around Rs 6 crore. Surender Goud was arrested and produced before the Anti Corruption Bureau court in Hyderabad.
