Andhra Pradesh: Sports certificates found to be fake

According to Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) officials, which released the final list of 2,160 successful candidates on January 2, 40 candidates were removed after it was found that they had submitted fake documents.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association (APOA) has demanded stringent action on those associations that issue fake certificates to students who aspire medical seats.

While addressing media after the executive committee meeting of the association held in the city on Monday, APOA president R.K. Purushottam said sports quota certificates’ verification done by a committee appointed by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh in August 2017 found that the soft ball, fencing, judo, roller skating associations of Andhra Pradesh issued sports certificates to inefficient candidates.

“We have received complaints on Fencing Association of AP having created fake medals and issued certificates to a few candidates who applied for medical seats under sports category. Similarly, the Softball association has issued certificates to medal winners without the notice of national association,” Mr. Purshottam said.
