Hyderabad-Karnataka Samiti takes Govt to task for fund cut
These are in addition to the grants sanctioned in the general budget.
Kalaburagi: Members of the Hyderabad Karnataka Janapara Sangharsh Samiti on Monday took the state government to task for causing “injustice” to the people of Hyderabad Karnataka region by slashing allocation of funds to the Hyderabad Karnataka Regional Development Board (HKRDB) in the recent budget presented by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
Addressing the media here, Samiti President Laxman Dasti and activist Razak Ustad alleged that the state government has cut the actual allocation to HKRDB by allocating a portion of it for SC/ST development schemes in the region. As per rules, the Board receives separate grants from the state government for execution of developmental works for removal of regional imbalance.
These are in addition to the grants sanctioned in the general budget. Mr Dasti said the state government in the recent budget has allocated Rs 580 crore for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes development schemes, from the Rs 1,000 crore sanctioned for HKRDB.
