From PM Modi to Rahul Gandhi: Teachers Day Tributes Flood Twitter
HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday led the nation in congratulating teachers on the occasion of the Teachers Day for playing “a key role in building our future and inspiring dreams”.
“On #TeachersDay, we salute them for their unwavering dedication and great impact. Tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary,” Modi wrote on social media platform X.
Calling teachers as true nation builders, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said they are not only our guiding lights, but the flag bearers of good values and the conscience keepers of our moral compass.
“On #TeachersDay, we salute all teachers across the country, for they are the ones who will chart our future destiny. Our humble homage to Former President of India, Dr S. Radhakrishnan who was philosopher, and statesman and whose contribution, dedication and wisdom continue to inspire us, generation after generation.”
In a message on the Teachers Day, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said he considered great men like Mahatma Gandhi, Gautam Buddha, and Narayana Guru as his gurus as they called for equality of all people in the society, and showed compassion and love towards everyone.
In a message on his Facebook, Rahul Gandhi said “the people of India are also like teachers, who give an example of unity in diversity, inspire us to fight every problem with courage, and are the embodiment of humility and penance.
''I consider even my opponents as my teachers, who by their conduct, lies and words teach me that the path I am following is absolutely right and to keep moving forward on it at all costs,'' he said.
''My respectful tributes to all the teachers on Teachers' Day. Humble tributes to former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ji on his birth anniversary. A teacher has a very high pedestal in life as a teacher illuminates the path of your life and inspires you to move in the right direction,'' the former Congress chief said.
