Hyderabad: Drainages are overflowing with high intensity in colonies near the Kapra inlet and Yapral.

Priya Iyengar of SS Enclave said, “All the sewage of Yapral flows into the Kapra lake. With the water level rising, the drainage is overflowing into private properties. The colony roads are flooded.”

Similarly, colonies at Kapra near DLR Enclave are also suffering. The water comes down from high tension wire road and bursts out at the entry of DLR Enclave.

Mr C.S. Chandrashekar, who represents all the colonies which are close to the Kapra inlet area, said, “Due to drainage water, senior citizens and children fall ill. There has been continuous flow of drainage water during the recent rains. It has become a major health hazard.”

The outlet at the Kapra lake is choked with silt. Engineers in the Kapra circle have failed to use machines to remove the silt despite repeated requests from resident associations. The deputy commissioner of Kapra circle has not visited the colonies to inspect the situation despite constant complains.
