Bengaluru: Special flights are being organised by Department of Tourism and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) from Bengaluru to Mysuru from October 10-19 to enable tourists to travel with ease and witness the world famous Dasara festival.
A MoU has been signed between KSTDC and Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, to operate the special flight to and from Mysuru, connecting Bengaluru.
Alliance Air will operate a 72-seater ATR aircraft and it shall leave Bengaluru at 2:10 pm and later return from Mysuru at 3:30 pm.
The aircraft will operate from KIA airport and shall also work as connecting flight for all the tourists landing at Bengaluru from other places.
The tariff would vary from Rs 999 to Rs 15,000 including taxes. Tickets are available on online booking sites.
State Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh, who took the initiative, said, “We need to promote our culture and traditions and showcase our famous State festivals to tourists and guests from all over the world. I wish that the maximum number of people take advantage of this aircraft. We may think of continuing the operation of this flight if we get a good response from tourists.”
During the previous two years, the Department of Tourism had operated a seven-seater Cessna aircraft, branded as Aakash ambari, which used to operate from HAL airport.
