Telangana notifies Ameenpur lake as bio-heritage

Hyderabad: The TS government on Friday issued a final notification on Friday declaring Ameenpur lake in Medak district as a biodiversity heritage site under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 and Telangana Biodiversity Rules, 2015.

Ameenpur lake is the the first BHS in the state and has about 171 bird, 250 plant and nine fish species apart from 26 aquatic beetles and 41 butterfly species.
