BBMP to sponsor 400 angioplasties for poor

Bengaluru: Setting an example worthy of emulation by other civic bodies in the country, the BBMP will sponsor 400 angioplasty surgeries free of cost to help economically weaker sections. The BBMP, which has reserved Rs 4 crore for the surgeries in the 2017-18 budget, on Saturday signed an MoU with the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute Super Speciality Hospital. The BBMP extends the benefit to two cardiac patients from each of the 198 wards.
