Bengaluru: The Cubbon Park police on Sunday served a notice to the actor Arjun Sarja, asking him to appear before the police for questioning on Monday, in connection with a sexual harassment allegation filed by Sandalwood actor Sruthi Haraharan.

Sruthi had accused Sarja of misbehaving with her during the shooting of bilingual film Vismaya in 2015. She had filed a complaint with the Cubbon Park police alleging that Sarja had sexually harassed her and touched her inappropriately during rehearsals.

The Karnataka HC had on Friday restrained the police from arresting Sarja until the next hearing on November 14, but told them to continue with the investigation.

The Cubbon Park police, who are investigating the case, had recorded statements of the director of Vismaya, Arun Vaidhyanathan, and producer Umesh. They had also summoned the crew members and staff of the movie to record their statements last Wednesday.

The director and the producer had told police that no such incident was brought to their notice by anyone nor they knew nothing about it.
