THANJAVUR: South Indian women who believe in Indian culture will not visit Sabarimala if they are in their menstruating age, said Ms. Dheepa, daughter of the Vice President, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, here on Sunday.
Ms. Dheepa was hereon a visit to the Big temple with her mother Usha, and children. She told presspersons after darshan, that those who agitate at Sabarimala were doing it for various reasons. “I am a South Indian woman who respects our culture,” she said.
“There are temples which are thousands of years old and conserved by us in India. Instead of looking at them, people are going abroad to see other things,” Ms. Dheepa said and regretted at idols going missing from temples.
