Chennai techie jumps to his death
Police believe he could have committed suicide because of a possible relationship problem.
Chennai: A 27-year-old software engineer jumped to death from the seventh floor his office building on Anna Salai on Saturday night. Police identified the dead techie as Ramadurai, a resident of Theerthankaraipat, near Avadi who was working in a private firm in Sakthi Towers. No sooner than he jumped he was rushed to Royapettah GH from where he was referred to Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital. He died there early on Sunday morning from head injuries.
Police believe he could have committed suicide because of a possible relationship problem. He had tattooed 'Malini' on his hand. After initial enquiry, police said he was in love with a girl who studied with him. “It looks like there was some problem between the two,p police said.
He had told his family on Friday that he will be going to office only on Monday. But Saturday evening he told people at home that he was assigned urgent work and rushed to his office and later jumped to his death.
Besides collecting his mobile phone call details, the Thousand Lights police said they were conducting enquiries with family members and colleagues in his office to know if there was any sudden provocation for the extreme step. Ramadurai had completed his BCA in an engineering college and joined the current job eight months ago.
