Karnataka CM-babu nexus': BJP gets ammo for Parliament expose
Yeddyurappa said Mr Siddaramaiah who claimed to be honest, has been proved to be corrupt beyond doubt in this case.
Bengaluru: State BJP MPs will highlight in parliament the episode involving two officials allegedly close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who were caught by I-T officials with black money, in a bid to embarrass the Congress party.
Talking to reporters at the party office here on Sunday, party state president and Shivamogga MP B.S. Yeddyurappa said, "The mask of the chief minister has fallen off. The two officials indulged in corruption and were caught by I-T officials." He said Mr Siddaramaiah who claimed to be honest, has been proved to be corrupt beyond doubt in this case.
Party national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, Muralidhar Rao too joined Mr Yeddyurappa in attacking the Congress government in Karnataka. "The government here is synonymous with corruption. Under the leadership of B.S. Yeddyurappa, we will fight this government and in the next election, the Congress will lose power and at the national level it will remain marginalised. It seems that the Congress government wanted to fund the UP polls and so it indulged in large scale corruption," he said.
Mr Rao, while hailing the steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fight black money and corruption, said that in future, the states would also be proactively involved in fighting black money and corruption. He was of the view that lobbying which was also a form of corruption would be stopped in future.
Mr Yeddyurappa also said that the Belagavi session failed to find any answers to the problems faced by sugarcane farmers.
