KOLLAM: Two out of three bodies of fishermen recovered from the sea in Kollam coast were identified by the relatives on Monday. They are — Susai, 65, of Enayam in Kanyakumari and Victor, 37, of Thottappuram in Vizhinjam.  The other body is kept in Kollam district hospital mortuary. Two boats, one by the marine enforcement and the other arranged by the Fisheries Department, conducted the search operation in sea between Ernakulam and Alappuzha to rescue any stranded boats.

Workers with 18 fishing boats from Poonthura that joined the rescue operations were provided with free food and 150 liters of fuel jointly by the district administration and MatsyaFed – their only remuneration for helping the unsuccessful government agencies engaged in rescue operations.
