Netas welcome special courts to hear cases
BJP city president Ramachandra Rao welcomed the SC's direction try the cases against various political party leaders.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh has over 109 cases booked against politicians while Telangana has 99 cases. The political circuit in both the states welcomed the Supreme Court to establish special court to fast track the pending cases booked against them.
As far as AP and Telangana states are concerned out of a total of 119 elected MLAs in 2014 in Telangana, 64 are facing criminal cases. Of them 40 MLAs belonging to the TRS followed by the TD at 9, Congress 6, MIM 3, BJP 2 and Others 3.
In Andhra Pradesh out of the total 175 elected MLAs, 82 are facing criminal cases. While the TD tops the list with 52 MLAs, the YSRC stood second at 29. As far as the elected MPs are concerned, in Telangana, 8 out of 17 elected, facing criminal cases, while 11 out of 25 elected, facing criminal cases in AP.A majority of pending cases against the politicians are poll related but some of them have also facing other criminal cases and economic offences
BJP city president Ramachandra Rao welcomed the SC’s direction try the cases against various political party leaders and said, “ Politicians booked under serious crime like attempt to murder, kidnapping , crime against women need to be tried , they have to face the trial in the court of law and go to jail if charges proved to serve sentence. However, setting up of court will also help politicians who are falsely implicated; these courts will clean up the criminal record of politicians.
Legal experts opined that Sessions Court is competent to deal with the cases against the politicians. Mr. Pradyumna Kumar Reddy, criminal lawyer said that
