No negotiation on equality, says Agnivesh

Thrissur: Gender equality is non-negotiable in the present world order, and it's everyone’s duty to take a firm stand against gender discrimination, social activist Swami Agnivesh has said. He was speaking at the ‘Janabhimana Sangamam' organised by cultural activists here at Thekkinkkad Maidan on Tuesday in support of women entry to the Sabarimala hill shrine.
“Even after the Apex court permitting entry into Sabarimala, I wonder why the women are protesting against their right granted to them to enter the hilly shrine? It is because they have internalised injustice in the patriarchal society," said Mr Agnivesh.
‘Namajapam, a comic episode’
Speaking at the valedictory function in the evening, orator Sunil P. Elayidom said that in the history the ‘namajapam’ processions by women across Kerala would be marked a comic episode and history had several such instances of farce when canon breaking changes occurred on the other side.
