AP CM requests KRMB for judicious release of Krishna water
The Board should ensure judicious release of water for both irrigation and drinking water needs.'
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today urged the Krishna River Management Board to ensure prudent release of water from river Krishna to both AP and Telangana to protect the interests of farmers.
"Both AP and Telangana are facing problem when water levels are low in the river as the upper riparian states Maharashtra and Karnataka are not releasing adequate water.
"The Board should ensure judicious release of water for both irrigation and drinking water needs," the Chief Minister told KRMB chairman H K Haldar here.
The KRMB chairman, member-secretary Sameer Chatterjee and other members were here to inspect the structures on river Krishna.
The CM interacted with them briefly on the release of water, an official release said.
Chandrababu explained the real-time water management system being used in AP to the KRMB team.
State Water Resources Minister D U Rao accompanied the team.
Haldar and team visited the Dr K L Rao Sagar project on Thursday.
