Former MP writes to Railway Minister

Ramadoss pointed out that Puduchery has been developing into a microcosm of India.

Puducherry: The former Member of Parliment M. Ramadoss has appealed to Union minister of railways Piyush Goyal to address continued  railway  backwardness of the Union Territory of Puducherry  in relation to its demand,  through the current Budget to be presented to the Parliament on 1st February.

In his letter addressed to the minister, Mr Ramadoss pointed out that Puduchery  has been  developing into a microcosm of India attracting people from different countries of the world, States and Union Territories  of India and has carved out a niche in the tourism map of India and the globe.

Development of a variety of higher educational and health institutions  have elevated the status of Puducherry as a hub  of education, health and a knowledge city.  

Declaration of Puducherry as a Smart City , the growth of IT and other service industries , the growth of population and  several other reasons also add to the requirement of railway services.
