Hyderabad: Three armed robbers are spreading terror on city roads targeting citizens and looting their property. A three-member gang, suspected to be from North India, targeted a shopkeeper in Kalapathar in the Old City on Thursday evening. On Wednesday, the gang threatened another person at Jubilee Hills at knife-point and took away his bike, wallet and mobile phone.
At Bahadurpura, the gang waylaid one person while he was returning from a bank.
“The man went to a bank to deposit cash. As the bank was closed, he was returning when the three-member gang tried to rob him,” said Guru Naidu, inspector of Bahadurpura. He was saved with the help of passers-by. The police said that there were no CCTV cameras in the area.
“They are moving around in the city on a stolen bike. Moreover, we feel they are not familiar with the city and stop at whichever bank they find on the road,” said a task force official. Cases are booked under Sections 304 and 511 of the IPC.
