Coimbatore: With the help of non-government organisation, Against Child Trafficking, with support from advocate Ms. Anjali Pawar, one Mr. Casper Andersen, a citizen of Denmark, is back in Coimbatore in search of his biological parents.
In his second attempt to trace down his roots, the 40-year old who is graphic designer by profession, is assisted by local NGO, ‘Centre for Social Education and Development (CSED)’. He has turned to the media this time, urging members of the fourth estate to lend him a helping hand in his effort.
Speaking to DC advocate Pawar said, “in 2015, Casper Andersen reached his place of birth Linganoor in Thondamuthu here and efforts to locate whereabouts of his parents or family did not yield results. This time, we visited his native place and a few villagers opined that he (Casper formally known as Rajakumar) resembles his biological father.”she said.
“There are a few missing links in the process of tracing my parents. People of my village remember my father Ayyavu who stayed with his mother Mariammal in a hut near Karuparayan temple near old Marudhamalai Temple Road.”Casper told DC. A few people of his village also recall that the last time they saw his father was in 1986.
Way back in 1978, while he was just 30-months old, the two-and-a-half-year-old Rajakumar, a native of Linganoor in Thondamuthu was handed over to the Blue Mountain Childrens’ Home for adoption. Rajakumar was born to couple Ayyavu and Saraswathi. Ayyavu suffered a paralytic attack and his wife left him. Subsequently, in 1979, Rajakumar was legally adopted by Danish couple Keld and Birthe Andersen under ‘Guardianship Act’ and since then is known as Casper Andersen and resides in Denmark with his adopted parents, said sources.
