ALAPPUZHA: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan  has alleged that  the Governor’s  address in the last session of the 13th Kerala Assembly  on Friday was the UDF’s election manifesto for the ensuing polls.

Mr Kummanam, who reached here leading  his Vimochana Yatra, said,  “the UDF government has used Governor P. Sathasivam for presenting its election manifesto and making  political gains. The address did not contain anything to bring hope to the people and was  an eyewash,’’ he said.

When asked about his  stand on Aranmula airport project, he  said that it was a closed chapter.   He alleged that  the UDF government was  sabotaging the union government’s schemes  for the welfare of the people.

Both the LDF and the UDF were  jointly derailing a fair investigation into the P. Krishna PIllai memorial attack case, he said.

He also called on SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan at his residence in the  morning and discussed the alliance between the BJP and  the BDJS in the coming polls.

Mr Kummanam said that more discussions will be held after February 15 when the Yathra and the membership campaign of BDJS will conclude.

Mr Vellappally said that the BDJS was  keeping its doors open  for all  political parties.   “However,  politicians like Pinarayi Vijayan are searching for new issues to criticise our party. Now we are adding at least 15,000 members to the  party in each Assembly constituency, ‘’ he said.
