Hyderabad: CBSE is tweaking its evaluation policy from the coming academic year for Class VI to Class VIII students after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights stated that the current evaluation policy is against the Right to Education Act.

The policy has been introduced to prepare students ahead for the Class X Board exams. The official notification from the CBSE states that the uniform system of assessment for Classes VI to VIII stands repealed.

“Under the new system, the final exam would be for 80 marks and the practicals for 20 marks. After this, when students go to high school, they will be more equipped to deal with stress,” Anitha, a teacher, said.
