Assailants shoot cop filmy style

A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, police said.

Bhopal: Two bike-borne masked assailants on Tuesday shot at an inspector of police in district headquarters of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, leaving him critically injured, police said.

The victim, identified as K.K. Agrawal, who has been posted in the neighbouring district of Burhanpur, was grievously hurt following the attack and battling with his life in district hospital in Khandwa, police said. According to the police, the assailants opened fire on the cop in filmy style while passing by him in their bike and then speeded away in their two-wheeler.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, police said. Mr Agrawal was a member of anti-terrorist squad (ATS) of Madhya Pradesh police. Hence, the incident was being viewed seriously by the police.
