Chennai: The Madras high court has directed private schools to follow singing of national anthem as part of their curriculum.

Disposing of a PIL from N .Selvathirumal, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M. M. Sundresh also directed the state and central government authorities to make endeavours to verify singing of national anthem in the schools, which was on paper, transpires into ground reality.

“The private schools must follow such singing of national anthem as part of their curriculum”, the bench said while recording the stand of authorities that national anthem ought to be sung.
